Now Streaming: Big Beer Moved Too Early. Boston Beer Waited. | Paul Weaver

Big beer companies poured millions into cannabis drinks years ago and built breweries for a market that wasn't there yet. Boston Beer watched all of it, waited, and entered without owning a single facility.

Paul Weaver runs cannabis operations for Boston Beer Company, the maker of Samuel Adams and Twisted Tea. Their cannabis iced tea, Teapot, is now in roughly 2,000 Canadian dispensaries and holds about a 20 percent share of the drink category in Quebec, where cannabis gummies and chocolates are banned outright. They still will not sell a THC drink in the United States, and he explains exactly what has to change first.
